Aluminum Powder - Best For Rockets & Pyrotechnics?

Trying to find the best aluminum powder I can buy for rocket engines and pyrotechnic (fireworks) uses?

For propulsion and pyrotechnic applications you are covering multiple aspects including heat, reaction time, luminescence, and more. I have utilized the top brands on many applications including 5413 H Super, TH Dark, Indian Blackhead (and a host of other "hype" brands). The purest aluminum powders I have used with the best results are the Star Molecule Aluminum Powders hands down. There are many online stores and eBay stores that are pushing different brands (many of which have been simply renamed from the same three available everywhere, and many times they are thinned out with cheaper brands so they can make more money). Star Molecule is a military grade aluminum powder that works awesome. The site is at www.StarMolecule.com (I think there prices are the same as the other high end brands, except Star Molecule is not diluted, and it works better from my experience).

Cryogenic Rocket Engine

Cryogenic Rocket Engine

$68.51

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A cryogenic rocket engine is a rocket engine that uses a cryogenic fuel or oxidizer, that is, its fuel or oxidizer (or both) are gasses liquefied and stored at very low temperatures. Notably, these engines were one of the main factors of the ultimate success in reaching the Moon by the Saturn V rocket. During World War II, when powerful rocket engines were first considered by the German, American and Soviet engineers independently, all discovered that rocket engines need high mass flow rate of both oxidizer and fuel to generate a sufficient thrust. At that time oxygen and low molecular weight hydrocarbons were used as oxidizer and fuel pair. Radioisotope Rocket

Radioisotope Rocket

$92.4

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The radioisotope rocket is a type of rocket engine that uses the heat generated by the decay of radioactive elements to heat a working fluid, which is then exhausted through a rocket nozzle to produce thrust. They are similar in nature to the nuclear thermal rockets such as NERVA, but are considerably simpler and often have no moving parts. The basic idea is a development of existing radioisotope thermoelectric generator, or RTG, systems, in which the heat generated by decaying nuclear fuel is used to generate power. In the rocket application the generator is removed, and the working fluid is instead used to produce thrust directly. Temperatures of about 1500 to 2000 C are possible in this system, allowing for specific impulses of about 700 to 800 seconds (7 to 8 kN.s/kg), about double that of the best chemical engines such as the LH2LOX SSME. Created by scientist Viktor Gordeyev, the boots are actually a mechanical construction strapped on the legs and are powered by small internal combustion engines that add energy to every step. The speed for walking is approximately 17 km/h and the top speed for someone perfecting the use is said to be around 35 km/h. The boots uses approximately 4 centiliter per 10km. Rocket Propulsion Elements, 8th Edition

Rocket Propulsion Elements, 8th Edition

$94.5

The definitive text on rocket propulsion—now revised to reflect advancements in the field For sixty years, Sutton's Rocket Propulsion Elements has been regarded as the single most authoritative sourcebook on rocket propulsion technology. As with the previous edition, coauthored with Oscar Biblarz, the Eighth Edition of Rocket Propulsion Elements offers a thorough introduction to basic principles of rocket propulsion for guided missiles, space flight, or satellite flight. It describes the physical mechanisms and designs for various types of rockets' and provides an understanding of how rocket propulsion is applied to flying vehicles. Updated and strengthened throughout, the Eighth Edition explores: The fundamentals of rocket propulsion, its essential technologies, and its key design rationaleThe various types of rocket propulsion systems, physical phenomena, and essential relationshipsThe latest advances in the field such as changes in materials, systems design, propellants, applications, and manufacturing technologies, with a separate new chapter devoted to turbopumpsLiquid propellant rocket engines and solid propellant rocket motors, the two most prevalent of the rocket propulsion systems, with in-depth consideration of advances in hybrid rockets and electrical space propulsion Comprehensive and coherently organized, this seminal text guides readers evenhandedly through the complex factors that shape rocket propulsion, with both theory and practical design considerations. Professional engineers in the aerospace and defense industries as well as students in mechanical and aerospace engineering will find this updated classic indispensable for its scope of coverage and utility.

Raptor (Rocket Stage)

Raptor (Rocket Stage)

$86.03

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. As of 2009, Raptor was a rocket engine design concept by SpaceX for a higher performance upper stage for the Falcon 9 launch vehicle. The engine would be powered by liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen, rather than the RP1 kerosene and liquid oxygen used in the current Falcon 9 upper stage. Liquid Hydrogen rocket engines typically have a specific impulse (Isp) of up to 450s, in comparison to the SpaceX RP1 Merlin Vacuum engines Isp of 342s. An LH2 upper stage enables much greater mass to be boosted into orbit. Falcon 9 is a spaceflight launch system that uses rocket engines designed and manufactured by SpaceX. Both stages of the twostagetoorbit vehicles use liquid oxygen (LOX) and rocketgrade kerosene (RP1) propellants. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F.
