Testing Cable Tension

Concrete core compression testing and results?
We are building a new house and when they pulled the post tension cables the concrete did not hold. We had an engineer get a concrete core compression test . Here are the results:
Living room 1790 psi, Patio 2110 psi, Livinr room 1700 psi, Garage 1840 psi. This test was taken at 20 days after pour. Is the foundation good or bad? Thanks for your help.
It sounds like you may be building in the Gulf Coast area.
The absolute minimum compressive strength for post tensioning should be 4000 psi at 28 days; at twenty days, I would have expected a strength in excess of 2000 psi throughout. The strength will increase as the concrete ages, but if you are averaging less than 2000 at 20 days, the most I would expect at several months out is about 3000 psi.
There are ways to work around low strength, but they involve some rather atypical retrofits at the cable anchors at both ends.

Steel Cable Tension Test A
Static Equilibrium problem.?
I'm going through an old exam to study for my physics final. I solved this to the end but don't know if I got the right answer because the person who took the test got the problem wrong.
HERE is the image that came with the problem (excuse the crude drawing):
http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/5438/physicsrm4.jpg
A uniform beam having a weight of 60N and a length of 3.2 m is HINGED at its lower end. It is acted on by a HORIZONTAL force F of magnitude 50N at its upper end. The beam is kept vertical by a cable that makes an angle of 25 degrees with the ground.
Determine the tension in the cable. Determine the horizontal and vertical components and the resultant magnitude of the force of the hinge on the beam.
Just let me know if you get the same answers:
Tension force = 88.27 N
Hinge{x} = - 30 N
Hinge {y} = 97.3 N
Hinge{resultant} = 101.8 N
angle = -72.86 degrees.
* Note: I used Torque{hinge} as my reference point.
summing torque about the hinge
50*3.2-T*cos25*2=0
T is the tension in the cable
T=(50*3.2)/(2*cos25)
T=88.27 N
with you so far
Hx=50-T*cos25
hx= -30, yup
Hy=60+T*sin25
hy=97.3 , also agree
