what type aircraft? new pilot low certificate?

what type cheap easy to use easy to maintain aircraft would you suggest my friend get. he claims he does not care if he needs a higher certificate to fly it (stupid stupid stupid) but he wants something safer than an ultralight with a plane like design and he possibly would end up getting a light sport certificate. please send links to websites with review and purchase info. oh and he wished it was a 2 seater so i can get my friend who is a flight instructor to at the least show basics.

First of all how old is your friend? I am gathering he wants a fixed wing powered airplane vs ppg, ppl, glider, trike, etc.
Actually a well designed, maintained and properlly operated ultralight is a very safe aircraft.
All 2 seat ultralights are now ELSA. All commercial training is in an ELSA until 2010 and then only SLSA aircraft or certified aircraft.

My First Ultralight Flight!



help with ultralight aircraft in north carolina?

im 15 and live in hickory nc, does anybody know a good flight instructor or ultralight airport i should go to? , i have a big field behind my house and im wondering if i can use it to fly and land planes on it, can you fly planes by yourself if you have completed the 20 hours of flight time but you don't have your license yet because it will take 2 years before i turn 17 and i think you have to be 17 to get a license. if i buy a plane after i finish training what ultralight plane do you think i should get for under $15000. thanks!!!

First, you do not need a "license" to fly an ultralight.
I am not aware of any Instructors in Hickory, but there is hope!
Northbrook International Ultraport might just be what you are looking for.
