better jobs for fixed winged or rotary winged aircraft?
Im thinking about going into the military and have been thinking of being a pilot. Would you rather fly fixed wing or rotary wing aircraft. After the military what would give me a better job with better pay
You have a better chance of becoming a helicopter pilot than a fixed wing pilot in the military, so that might help you decide. Also, pay is not the best or only criteria for choosing a profession. Lifestyle should be considered too. If you'd like to spend 150-200 nights per year away from home sleeping in a hotel / motel, then go fixed wing. That's basically the life of an airline pilot. Most helicopter jobs do not involve a lot of long-distance travel. Also, while fixed wing pilots can make more money at the high end of the spectrum (airline captain or corporate jet captain), on the average, most helicopter pilots are paid better than fixed wing pilots who fly in lesser capacities. For example, an EMS helicopter pilot makes more than most fixed-wing air ambulance pilots. On the other hand, there are more fixed-wing jobs available at any given time, but the growth of the helicopter industry is going to be greater than the growth of the fixed-wing industry over the next 20 years.

How to get my Rotary and Fixed Wing Aircraft Licensing?
1) Have lots of money in savings or have lots of financing vailable.
2) Enroll in a flight school that offers both
3) Getting your fixed -wing ratings then adding the rotor wing certification is much cheaper than doing it the other way around. However, if your goal is really to be a helicopter pilot, the more rotor wing hours you have the better.
4) Don't f**k up. There are a lot of ways to do that, both in and out of the aircraft..
