confused, i replied that i was from here (US in general, CA specifically), but my father is vietnamese and my mother american/anglo. due to my slightly ambiguous looks, i get asked "where are you from" often, so adding this bit of info is kinda auto-pilot. but rarely do i hear "where in the U.S. etc..." i don't exactly have a heavy southern or new york accent or something!

Well the only think I know that this has got anything to do with LGBT, but since I am already here I would lik eto say something.
I personally find that kind of question is interesting, yet boring if it's asked over and over again. But being different (I mean in a good way) is always what I want, and I think everyone should want to, since you are what you are, with all the uniqueness. So tell them that you have a unique couple as parents.
