Can I buy a hockey shaft and a blade and use it on the street?

I found a very good price for a shaft and i don't know if i could get a blade that i could use on the street. My friend has a blade and uses it on the street(not plastic) looks like a wooden one. SO can i buy a plastic end for my shaft or a special blade for road hockey??? the shaft is made up of carbon/glass construction. plz HELP!!!

Yes, you can. Just remember:
If its a senior shaft, buy a senior blade.
If its a junior shaft, buy a junior blade.
(they are different sizes, the junior one is smaller. You can't fit a senior blade into a senior shaft, and a junior blade in a senior shaft will just rattle all the time)

For road hockey it doesn't really matter what the shaft is made out of.

You can find blades that work well for road hockey - Easton has blades that say "Street Tough, Ice Ready" on them, I use one of those and it works well for road hockey. There is also an Easton blade that is a wood/fibreglass hybrid, and those also say "street tough" on them. They're only $15-30. (don't buy the crappy cheap $7 plastic blades, they suck and your shot will suck)

Just pure wooden blades are no good, they splinter fast and wear off fast. Composites are too expensive, and they crack when there is a lot of road wear on them.

On a separate note, make sure if you buy a non-tapered shaft, you need to get a non-tapered blade. If you buy a tapered shaft, buy a tapered blade. Tapered just means the end where you plug the blade into is skinnier than the standard width, therefore the part of the blade you plug into the shaft is also smaller.
