how do i connect standard cable to HDTV?
I have a hdtv and most of my entertainment comes from ps3 gaming and blu-ray but every now and then i'd like to watch tv. i don't watch it enough to justify getting upgrades to my cable services and a digital box so, how can i connect what I already have to standard cable. my hdtv only has hdmi, s video and composite but no rf in or out for cable. a simple inexpensive adapter or home made kit would do just fine, unless i need some serious techy skills. any ideas or reccommendations would be appreciated.
Sounds like you have an HDTV monitor with no tuner. Do you have a cable box with your cable service? The cable box should have at least composite video and audio outputs in addition to RF output. If you don't then the next possibility is getting a VCR and using the tuner that is built in to it and use the video out to your TV.

Does anyone remember this toy?
In the late 70s to early 80s, I had a toy that was a Jr. Detective Kit and it included a fingerprint dusting kit with tape and dark and light powder and brush. It also had these cards with various eyes, noses and mouths and you could combine them in different combinations to make a composite "sketch" of a suspects face. I would like to find this toy on eBay but don't know the name and haven't been able to find it yet. I also had a monster make-up kit that would let you create these rubber scars etc and you put them on using spirit gum that came with it and had make-up sticks to blend them in with your own skin.
