Cord Assembly Push
power supply on laptop?
Three weeks ago one of our laptops power jack broke, it had been loose for some time and finally broke. We had it fixed, they said that the pin broke in the power jack, and replaced the power jack. Less then two weeks later, it broke again, we took it back. Now the man is saying that the corners of the power jack, the harness, and and the bottom assembly broke. He said we probally pushed the powercord in the laptop to hard (I dont think we pushed the power cord any different then the other laptops) . I noticed the day before it broke, the cord wiggled a bit. Does this sound right? I starting to think that it was a temporary fix.
Its a Toshiba satellite a500 series.
A lot of laptops (HP and Gateway among them) are designed with the powerjack soldered direct to the circuit board but no other support. After a period of time they loosen and break. Sounds like that's what happened.
The only for-sure fix is to replace the motherboard but it'll just happen again.

Anyone know how to replace a coil spring on a push lawn mower?
I have a '93 Murray push mower. Recently while starting the mower the cord went limp and didn't retract. I took the top assembly (where the cord rests) off to see what the story was. I don't see anything attached to the plastic part that holds the cord that would make the cord retract. Is there a spring that has broken? Advice?
Being a '93 it would cost you more to fix than replace, time for a new one, even if its used.
