Often compared with Enigma, Lesiem features an otherworldly male chorus chanting with a surprising expressiveness. The music?s moody atmosphere wouldn?t seem out of place in a Gothic cathedral. The brainchild of two German producers, Lesiem?s songs slip between light and dark, cruelty and beauty, and that tension is the secret to the group?s success. ?Poeta? rocks with a lazy dance pulse while the choir seems at odds with itself, alternately scolding and welcoming, creating a complex sense of foreboding. ?Agnus Dei? shows a softer side as the vocals rise toward heaven and the music shimmers with golden, celestial tones. Although all tracks are sung in Latin and are reminiscent of traditional liturgical music, there are no religious categorizations associated with Lesiem?instead, the densely layered music is rich with its own symbolism, mythology, and sonic mystery. |

OffAxis Illumination $78.07 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In photolithography, offaxis illumination is an optical system setup in which the incoming light strikes the photomask at an oblique angle rather than perpendicularly to it, that is to say, the incident light is not parallel to the axis of the optical system. The advantages of offaxis illumination can be explained in the context where the pattern on the photomask is a diffraction grating with a small pitch. The light that strikes the grating is diffracted in various directions. If the incident light is at a normal angle (along the axis of the optical system), then the zeroth diffracted order continues to be along the optical system axis, while the other orders are diffracted sideways, with the amount of deviation increasing as the pitch of the grating is decreasing. For sufficiently small pitch, only the zeroth diffraction order manages to make it through the projection lens, with the other orders being lost. The result is that no pattern is created on the wafer, since the zeroth diffraction order only contains the average of the photomask pattern. The Illumination (Paperback) $20.99 A medical anomaly--or some supernatural enlightenment--causes all injuries, wounds, ailments to shine with light in Kevin Brockmeier`s THE ILLUMINATION. All over the world, cut fingers emit beams like lasers, heart conditions suddenly start to glow, scabs on the mouth twinkle, and for six individuals who come into contact with a bundle of love letters, the pain highlighted by this bizarre occurrence becomes an intellectual experience besides the visible spectacle. Brockmeier`s figures in their own way each suffer from traumas or handicaps not exposed by the new incandescence, so the phenomenon serves to remove shame from their physical damage and redirect awareness to their spiritual health. |
