the Diamond DA40, I could find out that the nose landing gear is fixed. how about the two main landing gears?
if the two main landing gear are retractable, is there any emergency landing gear handle in the cockpit to be used by the flight crew under emergency situations?
Its landing gear is fixed.

What are the main differences between manual and auto gear transmission if theres 1,2 and overdrive in auto?
apart from a 5th or higher gear in manual transmission, can u not control the change of gears in an auto car in the same way as a manual car and achieve the same performance?
In a manual transmission you have complete control of all gears in the transmission by manually shifting through them. But with an automatic transmission, depending on the vehicle most of the time you are only limited to overdrive, drive, 2, and 1st. Which is the same as a manual but you don't have to operate the clutch manually. For example my 96 jeep has the above transmission gear selections and of course neutral, reverse, and park, but I can manually put the vehicle in 1st, 2nd, 3rd (drive), and then in overdrive for complete automatic operation, but the new jeeps have park, reverse, neutral, and drive. and that's it unless you get the autostick option for which then you can manually shift between gears. But for the most part older vehicles have the same options gear selection wise. Performance depends on how you drive the vehicle and how you take care of it.
