Which fuse do I need to use in my boat?
I carried my boat out for the first time this year and noticed I had a charging problem. After looking at the schematics in the owner's manual that came with the boat I noticed that a fuse was blown.
After researching online I found a parts catalog that says the fuse should be a 20 amp fuse. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ice_cream_man/3611659742/ The blown fuse that was in the boat was a 20 amp fuse. I don't know if the fuses are original because I am the second owner.
My original owner's manual says that they are 25 amp fuses. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ice_cream_man/3611659802/
My question is do I go with the 20 amp fuse or the 25 amp fuse? If I go with the 25 amp fuse will I risk burning up the voltage regulator?
The engine is a Suzuki DT115 outboard engine.
Also in each of the pictures I have the items circled in red.
Personally I would go with the 25 amp like the manual says. If it's supposed to be a 25 that's why the 20 is blowing out.
