Parts Microswitch Switches
Help with Volvo overdrives?
Two problems.
First is on my '91 740 Turbo. The button to disengage the overdrive (auto) does not work except in park. Used to work all the time, then intermittently, now not at all. Figuring it's a maladjusted microswitch but don't know where to find it or how to repair.
Second, my '82 240 with the 4 + 1 overdrive (manual). Switch works, relay works, solenoid works (the electric part anyways) and OD light comes on, but no OD. Changed the fluid (pulled a few rather large nuggets out, but not bad considering it is nearly 30 years old) cleaned the screen and no change.
I really am missing my '85 740 with the no-nonsense 4 speed selectable auto...
On the '91, pretty sure the wires are okay as it works when in park.
The 4th gear sw on the '82 works 'cause the OD light will go on in 4th and go off when pulled out of 4th.
Check the wires and gear.
