2000 Chevrolet S-10 radio problems?

I recently took out my aftermarket stereo and reinstalled the factory radio. The aftermarket cd player's faceplate was about ready to fall off. The person who helped me put it in last time didn't secure it well, so it would slide down into the console every time I drove over a good bump. My father-in-law and I had to wire the factory connector back in to the wiring harness. I'm pretty sure it's wired correctly, but now the radio is acting funny. It will only turn on when the engine is running (not even in accessory half the time), and even when it works, it will turn on and off rapidly and randomly. Before I put money into a new cd player, what could it be? Obviously, the constant +12v wire is connected correctly, and all of the speaker wires are connected correctly, because they all work.

One more thing: I soldered and put heat shrink tubing over each connection, so they should be secure.

Hook up more than one amp?

Hey guys, on craigslist a guy is selling 2 mono amps. So im prolly just gonna use 2 amps instead of 1. I know that i need a distribution block and for the REM wire just use a wire and solder together, or hook up a wire from the amps REM input to the other amp. Now my question is... i have 1 amp with a set of RCA jacks but what about the other? How does the other hook up to the radio? Thanks
I think my radio had 3 RCA jacks. Can i just use any of them and the amp will work?

If your stereo doesn't have 2 sets of RCA's the easiest way to do it would be to get 2 Y-Adapters. With 1-male to 2-female outs. Then plug in your 2 sets of RCA wires for both amplifiers. If you don't want to go that route you can get a preamp or crossover which both have 1 set of audio inputs and 2-4 sets of outputs. I hope this helps.
