To the residents of Winnipeg...?
Okay, I am in the process of writing a novel, and the girl in my novel is being sent to a reform school in Winnipeg.
I would like to know some things...
1) Where is a less populated area in Winnipeg, somewhere you can buy a lot of land an be secluded? See i don't want this school to be near a populated area. And the school itself is a boarding school and needs to be large. I would like it to be, near a provincial park, perhaps Spruce Woods Provincial Park, or another one if you have an area in mind. It could even be a Native Reserve...
2) I need to know which airport would be closest to the location im asking for. Like should she just be going to the Winnipeg International Airport? Or is there another one closer to where the school is?
Any other information would be helpful... Thanks
well anything less populated would perhaps be outside of the city...places like st. norbert, st. andrew, east st. paul, west st. paul. etc. if you want land inside the perimeter, there is lots of open farmers fields down sturgeon rd. birds hill is a provincial park near the city (only like 10 mins out of the city) but i don't know much about it. spruce woods is a good 2 hrs away. any reserves are also a good drive out of the city. most are up north, but there are several in the portage la prairie area (1 hr west of the city)
our airport is actually called the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport. but there are several small privately owned air strips in the surrounding communities... but they are generally only used by private planes.
