Ultralight Yokes
Microlight/Ultralight trike questions?
Hey, I've got some questions about microlight trikes. Please answer them if you can.
1. How/where do you start them up.
2. How long a runway do you need?
3. What's their average top speed?
4. What's the highest altitude they can fly at?
5. If it's raining or windy or both, can you take them out?
6. Do you control them with a yoke/stick like a plane or a 2-axis bar?
7. How do you land and how long does the runway need to be? Does it have to be grass, dirt, etc.
Thanks heaps if you can answer any of these. I know there's heaps, so only answer what you can. Cheers!
I've flown a Rally 2 B ultralight.
1. You start it with a pull start below the engine which is above the wing in this case.
2. to get it airborne? less than 1000 feet for sure
4. I only do low passes in it, its more fun that way, plus the screw holding the wing together has less threads visible so we don't go dangerously high
5. Raining, yeah, windy, no. They are very light and get thrown around in any wind. Also a crosswind will try to pick up the wing.
6. This one has a stick that extends downward from above. It works like a yoke/joystick with left/right and forward/back movement
7. You land like a normal plane by flaring and reducing the throttle. I like about 1200 feet to land and roll out because I have no brakes. Its a grass field and a taildragger.
Much fun!

Zighy Bay. Six Senses. From the air with a Microlig$ht.
how do i make my fsx landings better?
I play FSX demo a lot (but am saving to buy the deluxe version soon) and have been having some trouble mostly with landing. i am terrible
. i use my mouse to steer so i depend on hot keys and pausing mostly. and when i touch down i go all over the place. it's a pitiful sight and even more so when i the you tube vids of people doing it so well. i might buy a joystick some time after i buy the full game but i am pretty good at mouse yoke. so any help for a helpless soul like <3.
btw i fly ultralights and beech-craft bombardier
im sorry i mean beech craft baron my bad
Getting a joystick or yoke is a lot better, you've got better control of the aircraft. Don't worry about being crap without one because it is really difficult and you don't have as much fun. For me, I wouldn't bother practicing without a joystick or yoke.
